In order to assess the cultivar purity of seed lots ofimported and internal sugarbeet hybridsin 2016, about 10% ofseedlots, containing 67 imported hybrids: Aigrette, Alligator, Anacondra, Antek, Azaba, Azare, Baloo, Boomrang, Briggitta, BTS335, BTS180, BTS505, Cactus, Canaria, Castile, Courtine, Delta, Dorotea, Fernando, Flores, Futura, Ghazira, Giada, Horizon, Iris, Isabella, Karta, Kermit, Kevin, Laetitia, Levante, Loriquet, Lucera, Ludwina, Mandarin, Marjolain, Merak, Murraile, Nagano, Natura, Novodoru, Palma, Paniera, Pantera, Paulletta, Perfecta, Persia, Pirola, Poseidon, Premier, Puma, Rasta, Rizofort, Rosaflor, Rosaly, Rosamina, Rosire, Saneta, Sementa, Shoush, Silvetta, Spartak, Toucan, Tourelle, Vaclav, Vico and Zanubia, and three internal hybrid seedlots of Aria, Ekbatan and Aras 101 were sawn in seed and plant certification & registration institute (SPCRI) research field in Karaj. About 200 plants were considered in each control plot (4 rows of 8-meter length with row and plant spacing of 50 and 16 centimeters respectively). Then in each control plot, the plants were assessed at different growth stages and data recording was conducted from some morphological and agronomical traits that are less influenced by environment according to descriptor of international union for the protection of new varieties of plant)UPOV).The cultivar purity of each hybrid seed lotwas specified by comparison of plants in each plot with their DUS report and counting off -types and other cultivars number ineach plot and then comparing the data with OECD tables. The results of morphological traits assessment indicated that about82% of imported seed lots had a standard and acceptable cultivar purity. Butamong the three assessed internal seed lots, the only seed lot that had standard cultivar purity, was Ekbatan. Key words: Cultivar purity,Sugarbeethybrid, morphological traits, and Control plot.
