گزارش نهایی بررسی و شناسایی گونه های ‭Ellobius ‬و روشهای کنترل آن در استان خراسان

The Genus Ellobius is a rodent which occurs all over the Khorasan province. The nest of this mole rat has many branched burrows in different directions. It destrogs the crop plants and forage plants through its activity and feeding on their roots. therefore economically is an important pest. The maximum density of mole rat was found in mountainous areas. It does not hibernate and is active throughth the year. During 1997-98, the distribution areas of this rodent was known and the collected samples were studied by their morphological characteristics and chromosomes (Karyology). Only one species was the mole rat activity on different crops was studied and different control methods were tested. If the density of the Ellobius is low. the control practices should be done just in focal areas it was known that the most effective control method against Ellobius fuscocapillus B. was application of fumigants to the active nests.
