جمع آوری بذر گیاهان مرتعی منطقه گرگان و دشت به منظور تقویت و تکمیل بانک ژن گیاهان مرتعی

Golestan province with the extent 22022 km2 has allocated 1.3 percent of the total area of iran. This province is accured between 36 25 to 38 08 northern latitude and 53 50 to 56 50 eastern longtitude. This province is limited to the Torkmanistan republic from the north, to the Khorasan province from the east to the Semnan province from the south and to the Mazandaran province and Khazar sea from the west. This pronince is rich in flora and genetic variety because of the superior geotropical situation and accuring at the Alborz ountain slop chain and Khazar sea coastes, much difference elevation (Kooh-e-Kahkashan by 3813 m and Khazar sea coastes -26 m), so that based on accomplished on project of collection and identification of the flora of Golestan pronince. This pronince has more than 118 plant families (70% of Iranian plant families), 678 genus (56.5%) and more than 1704 species (24.3%). The aim of carrying out this project is collecting the range plants seeds of Gorgan and region in order to reinforcement and complementation of the genebank for carrying out this project. First, the range of this area which have more than 800000 hectars extent, were divided to four working regions and there were accomplished the collection of species seeds which were attained to the complete maturity in various seasons every year. The seed samples were cleaned and dried after collecting and recording the complete information and after the completion the identification and other necessary action for each sample, there were sent the seeds to the genebank of institute of forest and rangelands on the whole, the number of 372 samples of range species seeds have been collected from the ranges of Golestan and Dasht region that these numbers are related to the 26 families,84 genus, 160 species which have been sent to the genebank of forest and rangelands research institute in order to keep, maintain and other evaluations.
