چکیده مقاله:

Desulphurization of hydrogen-sulfide containing gas streams by aqueous iron cheate solutions as a washing liquor in a turbulent contact absorber TCA or mobile bed absorber MBA is mathematically and experimentally studeid. The desulphurization is accomplished through a precipitation reaction that occurs when sulfide and ferric ions are bought in to contact with each other. the absorption column mobile bed absorber contained low density hollow plastic balls as the packing , which was entangled between two perforated plates. the experiments were conducted at different operating conditions gas flow rate:22-28 lit/min, iron chelate flow rate:0.2-0.5 lit/min, hydrogen sulfide concentration: 300-4000 ppm and static packing height: 13,23 cm. a mathematical model was used to predict the H2S removal efficiency of the ferric chelate solution in the mobile bed absorber. using mass balances in the absorber , a set of ordinary differential equations relating the concentrations of species in the gas and liquid phases, along the axial direction in the scrubber were formulated. these equations were numerically solved to give the performance of the absorber. the validity of the model was examined by compring the calculation results with experimental data . the results predicted by the model showed a good agreement with the experimental data, obtained under different operating conditions.
