چکیده مقاله:

Systematic studies of Transcaspian Marinka fish (Cyprinidae: Schizothorax pelzami)from northeastern Iran at the population, species, and subspecies levels have not yetcompleted, and molecular studies on this species are scarce. Data from mitochondrialgene cytochrome oxidase I (COI) with 612 bp length was analyzed for 12 specimensof Schizothorax pelzami collected from 10 locations of the Razavi Khorasan provinceand compared with other Schizothorax species and common cyprinid genera whichwas downloaded from GenBank. Topologies of trees from maximum parsimony andBayesian analyses of COI gene are broadly congruent with each other. Findingsstrongly approved monophyly of Shizothorax genus and existence of two separatedclades for Shizothorax pelzami with high bootstrap values.
