چکیده مقاله:
Development of human communities such as dam construction effects the biologicalcharacteristics of aquatics inducing fishes. Hence, this study was conducted tocompare length-weight relationship of Kura barbel (Barbus lacerta, Heckel 1834)fragmented by the Taleghan Dam. In total 275 specimens of the Kura barbel werecollected from the up-and downstream of Taleghan dam using electrofishing. Theresults showed that total length (TL) and weight (W) range 209.63-30.9 mm (94.63± 8.17 SE) and 0.14-48.61 g. (28.35±7.65 SE), respectively and the length-weightrelationship was W=0.00001L 2.8592 (R2 P=0.8627) in whole specimens. Total length andW were 53.28-175.75 mm (126.27 ± 24.81 SE) and 1.52-36.78 g. (19.94 ± 8.387 SE)with length-weight relationship of w=0.00003L 2.768 (R2 =0/9681) in upstreampopulation and 53.287-175.756 mm (126.279 ± 24.811 SE) and TL and W were30.96-209.64 mm (90.96 ± 26.41 SE) and 10.14-48.61 g (6.75±6.16 SE) with lengthweightrelationship of W=0/00002L 2.7987 (R 2 =0.8497) for downstream population, respectively. Result also revealed a little differences between up-and downstreampopulations but not significant (P> 0.05). Based on the b coefficient, allometricgrowth pattern of whole specimens was negative displaying a better growth ofdownstream population.
