چکیده مقاله:

This paper presents an experimental study of bekhavior of corrugated core composite sandwich panel (CCCS) reinforced by superelastic shape memory alloy (SMA) wires subjected to a high-velocity impact. Sandwich panel structures are used for various engineering applications. Therefore, the importance of this study is to provide more accurate experimental models of CCCS under high-velocity impact test. Presence or absence of SMA wires in the samples and the pre-strain percentage of the SMA wires are the parameters studied in these experiments. The specimens were prepared using wet hand lay-up and their behavior was evaluated under high-velocity impact test by the use of air gun impact tester. According to the results, a significant change in the amount of energy absorbed by the wires was observed. By adding wires to the samples, the amount of energy absorbed was increased. On the other hand, applying pre-straining to the wires, caused residual stresses in the specimens that increased the energy absorption in impact
