Breast Cancer Screening Methods

Introduction: Breast cancer is the most common and deadly type of cancer among women, with a prevalence of up to 80% worldwide and it is the second leading cause of death among women.Materials and Methods: This review study was performed by searching the databases of Google Scholar, PubMed, PubMed, Scopus and Web of science and searching for the keywords of breast cancer, its prevention and screening. Then, 17 articles that met the inclusion criteria were selected.Results: The best way to treat breast cancer is timely recognition and early treatment, with 90% of treatments and 30% of cases leading to a reduction in mortality. Increasing the level of awareness of women and emphasizing on screening methods plays an important role in timely and preventive action. Based on the results of this study, education has been involved in improving the knowledge and practice of breast cancer screening methods. Breast self-examination, breast clinical examination, mammography, ultrasonography, magnetic resonance imaging MRI are some of the screening methods. MRI and then mammography are the most effective diagnostic methods and they can play an important role in reducing the incidence and mortality of breast cancer.Conclusions: Given the increasing prevalence of breast cancer, information dissemination through mass media and virtual media radio and television, etc. is primary prevention and recommendation in order to increase the awareness of people about breast cancer screening methods.
