The effect of angular velocity and radius of the cylinder on the quality of refined sesame oil in centrifuge separator

This study evaluated the effect of rotational speed and radius of rotation in a centrifuge separator on quality of refined sesame oil, influenced by two factors angular velocity in three levels of 3500, 4500 and 5500 rpm and turning radius on two levels 175 and 125 mm in three replications. Duration of this experiment for each replication was 5 minutes. The data were compared in a randomized complete block design. Comparison of means by Duncan s multiple range test at 5% level showed with increasing rotational speed and radius of the cylinder solid particles remaining in the oil has been reduced. Increasing the radius of the cylinder and increase the period of isolation from each other for better and more transparent oil is obtained.
