چکیده مقاله:

Background and Objective:Some nanoparticles are considered as an emerging method in the advancement of modern pharmaceutical science, which is widely used in biology and pharmacy studies due to their high potential for specific therapeutic process. Using nanoparticles to fight pathogenic bacteria can be considered as an alternative option. It has been shown that nanoparticles specifically metal oxide nanoparticles have high bactericidal properties. The aim of the current work is the evaluation of the antibacterial activity of the PEI—Sicl4 and PEI— Rucl4 nanoparticles on the growth rate of gram-positive pathogen Enterococcus faecalis.Materials and Methods:In the present study, the MIC of the nanocomplexes was carried out on the pathogenic bacteria. Also, nanostructures were loaded on the blank discs in different concentrations. A disc containing nanomaterials put on the nutrient agar plates which were inoculated with a specific account of bacteria previously. Then these plates were incubated at the 35 ºC for 18 hours. Inhibition zone diameter of each disc was measured as mean ± SD. Data were analyzed using SPSS version 22 and compared with Student t-test. P-value ≤ 0.05 was considered significant. Results:Findings of this study demonstrated that the nanoconjugates of PEI—Sicl4 and PEI—Ru doesn’t have any significant antibacterial effect on the bacterial pathogen Enterococcus faecalis. Conclusion:Based on this fact that nanotechnology has several applications in the sciences, our finding declined the antibacterial effect of PEI—Sicl4 and PEI— Rucl4 nanoparticles, but extrapolation of this study could be helpful in the treatment of bacterial diseases in the hospital
