Comparison of the caffeine and aminophylline on the treatment of prematurity apnea in preterm

چکیده مقاله:
Background: Apnea of prematurity is often found in preterm neonates with gestational age less than 34-37 weeks or birth weight less than 1000 grams. Methods: This Randomized Clinical Trial study was conducted on 80 ptemature neonates (less than 34 weeks) from the 1 / 11 / 2017 to 1 / 11 / 2018 in the NICU at Shahid Sadoughi Hospital in Yazd. The neonates experience more than one episode of apnea in 24 hours, with episodes of apnea requiring a bag and ventilating mask. The University s Ethics Committee approved this study and we received the IR code. IRU.MEDICINE.REC.1397.78 Results: In this study, preterm neonates were admitted to the NICU and were randomly divided into two treatment groups which were treated with caffeine or aminophylline. There was a significant difference between in terms of respiratory status between the two groups. Conclusion: There was no significant difference in complications such as the incidence of tachycardia, seizure, hypoglycemia, crying more than one hour, GI intolerance and Sleep disorders among groups.
