چکیده مقاله:

Background: Hydatid disease is a parasitic infection caused by Echinococcus granulosus.liver and lung are common sites of infection.Involvement of head and neck and supraclavicular region is extremely rare and could be easily overlooked even in endemic areas.case:A 55 year-old female presented with supraclavicular mass for 3 months. On sonography a 15mm*12mm solid-cystic pathologic lymph node suspicious for metastatic involvement was detected. After surgical resection and during gross examination a white-shiny cystic lesion was identified.Microscopic evaluation by Hematoxylin and Eosin revealed a hydatid cyst within lymph node which was highlighted by periodic acid schiff staining.conclusion: This case report demonstrate that although rare, Hydatid cyst should be considered in differential diagnosis of cervical and supraclavicular mass lesions in appropriate clinicoradiologic setting.
