چکیده مقاله:

Liquid storage tanks as a fundamental vital artery and Industrial facilities are widely used in all over the world. Wholly these structures are divided into three main groups; i.e., elevated, ground-supported and underground structures, and from the aspect looking are, slender and broad ones. Ground-supported cylindrical type of tanks on flexible soil is one of the main parts on professions such as petroleum industries. Seismic performance of such structures is closely depended on the tank height to radius ratio and liquid fill depth. In the present work several steel cylindrical tanks with various tank heights to radius ratios are selected. Hydrodynamic pressure appears as the most crucial problem in fluid-structure interaction phenomenon, which is considered in this research. To gain the seismic analyses, Abacus software is employed in which time domain analyses are performed. In the time domain analyses, the influence of various parameters such as, frequency content of earthquake, liquid fill depth and hydrodynamic stresses is assessed. For the case of slender tanks, noteworthy attentions would be requisite to be devoted to the design of such systems expected to experience long-period shakings
