Analyzing the causes of construction delays in Tehran, Isfahan, Kerman

Construction delays are one of the most problematic matters in Iran. Therefore, studying and analyzing the causes of construction delays is essential. This research tries to discover the delay causes in three different cities in Iran so we can eliminate them from our future construction projects. A questionnaire survey was prepared and distributed to 12 construction experts including clients, consultants, and contractors. By calculating the Frequency Index (F.I), Severity Index (S.I) and Importance Index (IMP.I), top delay causes of construction projects in Iran based on the highest value of mentioned factors determined. Finally, a comparison between the prospects of parties based on different factors has been made through delay causes and their priority.
