Building Information Modeling (BIM) is a new and promising approach in architecture, engineering, and the construction industry. BIM is a digital representation of physical and applied properties of a building and a common knowledge source for building information. It is a reliable basis for decision making during project lifecycle. On one hand, the need to optimal management of resources in the construction phase has always been a concern; and on the other hand, applying a modeling tool such as BIM for this purpose has been disregarded. The aim of this study, is evaluating the need to examine the impact of applying BIM on improvement of Human Resource Management (HRM) in urban construction projects. Research methodology of this study is literature review. Given the various aspects of such an important issue, the approach of considering HRM in this process is so significant. Addressing the process of HRM according to the results of the review of records- which identifies the needs of HRM in the construction industry- it is seen that so far no comprehensive study has analyzed the impact of BIM on HRM, and BIM is so significant in increasing the effectiveness of these projects.
