چکیده مقاله:
The effects of lead heavy metal (Pb) on the biological performance of many organisms are indicated. The Caspian coast has been heavily contaminated with heavy metals due to human activities. Common shrimp, Palaemon serratus, is one of the most common shrimp in the southern coast of the Caspian Sea and is ecologically and commercially important. Therefore, the aim of this study was to investigate the effects of lead ions on the biochemical content of common shrimp. In vitro, shrimp was exposed to concentrations of 0.01, 0.05, 0.1, 0.15 and 0.2 mg / l (ppm) of lead acetate for 96 hours, and the amount LC50 was calculated. Finally, the 96-hour LC50 concentration of lead was measured to be 12 ppm. To investigate the sub-lethal of lead, shrimp was then exposed to LC50 for 0.15 (0.100 ppm) for 15 and 30 days. Exposure duration and concentration of exposure to total protein, total carbon monoxide and total fat content of the various tissues including ovaries, testicles, hepatopancreas, muscle and hemolymph showed a significant effect. Lead reduced biochemical factors and toxicities in the 30-day exposure than in the 15-day period. The results of this study showed that water pollution with heavy metal lead contributes to the reduction of nutritional value of common shrimp. These results are important considering the increasing trend of industrial activities on the Caspian Sea coast.
