چکیده مقاله:
The Buthidae is the most diverse scorpion family and includes nearly half of known scorpion species. In this study, we followed the available literature and compile known species belong to Buthidae in Turkey. The Turkish Buthid scorpions are represented by 7 genera and 18 species. Buthidae scorpion species listed as follows: Androctonus crassicauda (Olivier, 1807), Buthacus macrocentrus (Ehrenberg, 1828), Compsobuthus matthiesseni (Birula, 1905), Compsobuthus schmiedeknechti (Vachon, 1949), Hottentotta saulcyi (Simon, 1880), Leiurus abdullahbayrami (Yağmur, Koç & Kunt, 2009), Mesobuthus eupeus (C. L. Koch, 1839), Mesobuthus phillipsii (Pocock, 1889), Mesobuthus nigrocinctus (Ehrenberg, 1828), Mesobuthus gibbosusan atolicus (Schenkel, 1947), Mesobuthus caucasicus (Nordmann, 1840), Orthochirus zagrosensis (Kovarik, 2004). Of these, none of the buthids peciesis currently considered endemic, but all species seem to have a restricted distribution in Turkey and adjacent countries.
