Plants and fruits are an essential component of the universe. Human beings have used those as medicine from the very beginning of time [1]. Phytochemical investigations on 10 species of important plants were used as medicinal in a few perfumeries in Ardabil city belonging to 7 families was carried out. The plant species were: Achillea millefolium, Althaea officinalis, Thymus vulgaris, Mentha Pulegium, Melissa officinalis, Hyssopus officinalis, Elaeagnus angustifolia, Delphinium elbursense, Artemisia fragrans and Aethionema stenopterum. Aerial parts of the plants screened in this investigation were collected and/or purchased from different perfumery and shop, and powdered. A qualitative phytochemical analysis was performed for the presence of flavonoids, alkaloids, tannins and saponins [2]. The results obtained of the investigated plants showed that 2 samples were found to be flavonoids bearing, 3 showed the presence of alkaloids, 9 tannins and 6 saponins. The methanolic extract of Althaea officinalis was rich sources of flavonoid and Achillea millefolium, Althaea officinalis, Thymus vulgaris, Mentha Pulegium, Melissa officinalis, Hyssopus officinalis,Delphinium elbursense, Artemisia fragrans and Aethionema stenopterum were rich source of tannins that appear to have protective effects for human health. These plants which are medicinal species used for various ailments.
