چکیده مقاله:

Since soil erosion can be studied qualitatively and quantitatively, various practical methods have been developed, but most of them are not accurate in the information processing, regarding soil erosion. There are some models that purport to have such an approach, at least to an extent. Often, these models are a combination of descriptive and quantitative procedures to characterize a drainage basin and result in a quantitative or sometimes qualitative estimate of sediment yield in a basin. Therefore, these models can be classified in general as semi-quantitative (EPM (Gavrilovic method) and MPSIAC). The study area of Mashhad-Chenaran site, measuring 223989.7 acres, is the largest and the most important sub basin of Kashafroud. The sediment amount in sediment measuring stations showed 2.74 t/ha per year, however by using MPSIAC model the result changed to 1.56 t/ha per year and using EPM model showed 5.73 t/ha per year. EPM and MPSIAC both have been created in the countries with different climate and geology attributes. Hence, coefficients and effective factors in erosion does not correspond to conditions in Iran completely.
