چکیده مقاله:

Hydrate formation is the number one problem in flow assurance risk measurements in sour wet gas pipelines. Since corrosion inhibitor (CI) is usually injected into sour gas pipeline along with kinetic hydrate inhibitor (KHI) in low dosage, investigating the compatibility and side effect of these two chemicals on their individual performances seems vital for uninterrupted, optimum productivity in gas streams. Isothermal induction time measurement was used to evaluate the risk of hydrate formation in the absence (blank) and presence of KHI with or without CI. The presence of KHI with the concentration of 0.1% (based on water) prevented hydrate formation more than 18 hours. On the contrary, the hydrate induction time of KHI+CI test was significantly reduced in comparison with only KHI test. It was observed that there was an antagonistic effect of CI on the KHI performance. Hydrate growth rate, from initiation to compleation, in the presence of KHI+CI was more moderate compared to absence of CI. Further investigations will require for determination of chemical concentration contribution on the analysis of side effects.
