چکیده مقاله:

Titanium dioxide (TiO2) has been extensively used as an environmentally harmonious and clean photocatalyst, because of its optical properties, high chemical stability. Modification of its surfaces by functionalizing to antioxidant technique is found to reduce cytotoxicity of them. Phytochemical compounds play an important role in the lives of people. Many of them show antioxidant/free radical scavenging properties. Hesperidin, an abundant and inexpensive bioflavonoid in citrus peel, has been reported to possess a wide range of pharmacological properties such as antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, hypolipidemic, anticarcinogenic and vasoprotective and cholesterol lowering actions. Herein, TiO2NPs were synthesized by a modified sol-gel method. Hesperidin was preparation and purification from Citrus peels and was grafted on TiO2NPs. The antioxidant capacities of free TiO2NPs and functionalized TiO2NPs (TiO2NPs-H) were determined by reduction of 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) radical. TiO2NPs-HD exhibited higher antioxidant activity compared to free TiO2 NPs.
