Evaluation of the relationship between Occupational stress and Mental Health among the nurses of Namazi hospital in Shiraz city

The present study was done with the aim of evaluating the relationship between occupational stress andmental health among the nurses of Namazi hospital in Shiraz city. This is a descriptive study with correlationaldesign. The statistical sample included all nurses of Namazi hospital in Shiraz city among whom 200 nurse wererandomly selected as the study sample. Data collection was done using occupational stress questionnaire byStinmeits (1997) and mental health questionnaire by Goldberg (1972). Data analysis was done using Pearson scorrelation coefficient. The result showed that the relationship between occupational stress and socialperformance was negative and significant, but there was a direct and significant relationship with weakphysical performance, depression and anxiety symptoms.
