Isolation and recogniton Saprolegnia species from fungal infected eggs of the Cyprinus carpio in Shahid Rajaii Center, Mazandaran Province

Objective: Fungal infection in the eggs of marine and brackish water fish in Shahid Rajaii Center is well known as a problematic disease. The isolation and recognition Saprolegnia fungi from fungal infected eggs of the Cyprinus carpio in Shahid Rajaii Center Mazandaran Province was the aim of this research. Method & Materials: In this research fungal infected eggs were examined from Shahid Rajaii Center in early spring 2007. The fungal infected eggs were inoculated on SDA, CMA, GP agar and hemp seed and sesame seed cultures in sterile tap water at room temperature (18- 24) centigrade. Results & Conclusion: In this study, one genus and two species of Sapolegnia were identified based on morphological characteristics, including Saprolegnia, Achlya. One species was identified in the genus Saprolegnia. S. parasitica and one species was identified in the genus Achlya; Achlya sp. was isolated from almost all the incubation. In addition, another five genera and species were identified; Penicillium, Aspergillus, Paeciliomyces, Fusarioum oxysporum, Fusarium.
