Prevalence of various diseases in cold water fish in East Azerbaijan Province of Iran during 2004- 2007

Objective: The coldwater fish are a main part of aquatic food resources in public food consumption in Iran especially in East Azerbaijan Province. Regarding to this important matter, we must have enough knowledge and information about current disease and their prevalence in related farms. Therefore, the obtained data can help us to control and prevent the occurrence of current diseases in coldwater fish farms and it can provide the healthy food for consumers of these products. Method & Materials: For this purpose, we visited from 15 coldwater fish farms for totally 67 times in East Azerbaijan Province of Iran during 2004 until 2007. Results & Conclusion: After these visits we found that maximum prevalence of disease related to ich disease at about %27 and minimum outbreak regarded to anemia, tail rot, heat stress, gas bubble disease and Dactylogirosis at about 1.5 percent from total detectable disease in our visits.
