چکیده مقاله:
Proportional-Integral-Derivative (PID) controllers are the most widely used controllers in industry because of its simplicity and robustness. The process of setting the optimal gains for P, I and D to get an ideal response from a control system is called tuning. Different values of PID parameters make different step response, so control engineers are on look for proper tuning of PID controllers. In this project different methods for tuning of PID controllers are observed, such as Ziegler and Tyreus-luyben method and an evolutionary algorithm based tuning method such as invasive weed optimization, which makes an optimized solution for the minimization problem.Invasive weed optimization have proved its efficiency by optimizing the characteristic and performance of the closed loop system in terms of rise time, maximum overshoot (Mp) integral absolute error (IAE) and integral square error (ISE).To show the effectiveness of IWO tuning method a plant is analyzed through simulation and its performance is studied and compared.
