چکیده مقاله:
Varied pressure desalination technology is proposed for seawater desalination through evaporation and subsequent condensation at the different pressure(s). Two varied pressure desalination processes utilizing solar heat are proposed and assessed theoretically. The desalinated water production rate, gain output ratio (GOR) and economical comparison between these two processes are made subject to a similar pressure ratio of the dehumidifier to the humidifier (PD/PH). An increase in the desalinated water production rate by approximately 39.16% to more than 400% is resulted by an increase in PD/PH in comparison with ordinary HDH processes. In similar pressure ratio, an increase in maximum GOR by 21.6% to 34.9% is obtained in the proposed operating condition.
