چکیده مقاله:

Design of structures to resist seismic forces depends in ductility and the capacityof elements and their connections to undergo large deflections and rotations without failing. The use ofseveral shear walls distributed throughout the building will improve the overall seismic as well as theblast behavior of the building. The perimeter walls may be connected to adjacent columns or not. Thisstudy was focused on the potential loss of columns against blast loading when connected to the shearwall. The computer program AUTODYN and SAP2000 were used to model and analyze. This paperincludes evaluation for the loss of adjacent columns and the potential for failure of structure. Theweaknesses present in the structural blast design are assessed, and recommendations for improveddetailing are offered.
