To compare the efficacy of two treatments, behavioral therapyand cognitive therapy in reducing symptoms of generalizedanxiety students

Introduction: This study aimed to compare the effectiveness of two treatments, cognitivebehavioral therapy and cognitive therapy in reducing symptoms of generalized anxietyconducted. Experimental study and the study population were students with anxiety. Methods:The study sample (n = 30), 15 for each sampling method available from the student s schoolcounselor has been detected with the diagnosis were selected. The instruments used in the studywas a questionnaire GAD Wales. And to analyze the hypothesis of (multivariate analysis ofvariance MANOVA) was used. Results: The findings showed that both treatments (cognitivetherapy and behavioral therapy) is effective in reducing symptoms of anxiety. But theeffectiveness of cognitive behavioral therapy is more. Conclusion: The results obtained in thisstudy it can be concluded that treatment approach based on the cognitive and behavioral therapyis effective in reducing the severity of symptoms of generalized anxiety disorder. Due to thesuccess of this study are generalized anxiety disorder in individual cases, Can be used to treatbehavioral therapy. In other words, treatment can be behavioral therapy As an independentmanner or in conjunction with other treatment methods such as drug therapy in the treatment ofanxiety and concern about the impacts of health, social, and meta worries to be applied.
