چکیده مقاله:

In recent years using of reinforced soil in design of footings and soil base retaining structureshave become popular. In fact the reinforced soil walls are mbankments that are strengthened byreinforcement elements such as geogrids, steel strips, etc. In this article the bearing capacity ofstrip footing and the displacement of retaining wall reinforced by geogrid with saturatedembankment subjected to a normal static load are studied. In addition, the effect of importantparameters including the distance of strip footing from the edge of wall and the geogrid depth areinvestigated. Since in previous reported studies the effect of embankment Saturation were notconsidered, the emphasis of this article is on this effect on the bearing capacity and the walldisplacement. To conduct experimental tests, a laboratory small scale model is used. The resultsof this work suggest that using reinforced soil with saturated embankment causes the bearingcapacity of strip footing to increase and the displacement of retaining wall to decline.
