Presenting a Model for evaluating, Selecting and Conducting Investment Projects(Case study in agricultural field)

Selecting and managing investment projects portfolio is challenging decision making problems in businesses. Always, the selected portfolio of projects represents the strategic goals of organization. Before determining the appropriate method for selecting projects, it s essential to determine the number of portfolios that organizations need for categorizing investment projects. The importance of categorization of investment projects is due to when an organization decides to use one portfolio; it will be faced methodological difficulties because of diversity of investment types. Different investment types are evaluated and selected by different manners. The suitable approach for selecting investment projects portfolio is basically depends on organization size, diversity of businesses and diversity of investment types. Each category of investment portfolios consists of some projects that have same specifications. This categorization allows organizations to evaluate, select and prioritize projects in each portfolio based on set of similar criteria and techniques. This categorization also helps organizations to balance their projects and portfolios. In this paper, we discuss the manner of categorizing, conducting and selecting investment projects in agricultural field (as case study) by using literature review and experts opinions. The results of this research can increase the efficiency of selecting and managing investment projects in organizations.
