Among the best currently available techniques for wastewater treatment and reuse, membrane bioreactors (MBRs) are important because of their rapidly improving cost/benefit ratio.Thefocus of the present study is to evaluate the performance of lab-scale membrane bioreactors, AS-MBR (activated sludge (AS) system) as a function of the variables HRT (hydraulicretention time) and MLVSS (mixed liquor volatile suspended solids) to treating industrialwastewater, two main parameters as process response (phosphorus removal and turbidity) were measured and calculated. Interactive effect of two process variables on the process responses was investigated using response surface methodology (RSM). The maximum values of phosphorus removal were achieved to be 13.0 in highest MLVSS concentration and mean HRT (12000 mg.L
