The Impact of Sport Stadium on Jobs Related to Tourism in Iran

Tourism may provide very significant contribution to the economy overall . Stadium construction and building sports facilities to professional sports teams have gathered a lot of attention in the field of sports economics. Across three decades many cities and metropolitan regions have made substantial investments in different tourist amenity packages. These investments were made to either capture a portion of the growing tourism market and the other hand for advance economic development (advance income and employment) these area. This paper explores the impact of tourism and stadiums of champions league football on employment and income in provincial capitals of Iran. This study uses a new methodology – the Count Data approach. Therefore, to conduct research is used from Census data that each year is made to questionnaires of household income and expenditure. For example, in this research have been collected about 24000 data of income and employment in jobs related to tourism and stadiums in provincial capitals in 2010-2014. The main findings of this paper reveal that the existence Tourist Places and stadiums in cities have positive and significant impact on employment and earning of people in related jobs. Despite the positive impact of museums, tombs and places of pilgrimage and stadiums on employment and income suggests that the increase of these tools can be sponsored by government for increasing employment schemes.
