The Role of Information Technology in Empowering Decision-Making amongManagers of State Organization for Registration of Deeds and Properties; thecase of Ilam Province

Regarding today's competitive world, one can argue that managers are in dire need of detailed,accurate and timely information, more than ever in the past, so that they can make and enforcethe best decision possible in the shortest time. As such, the information technology can helpmanagers to take sound decision in many cases and it can provide the scenarios required fordecision-making for them thereof. Accordingly, this paper attempted to investigate the impact ofinformation technology in empowering decision-making among managers of State Organizationfor Registration of Deeds and Properties in Ilam province. Regarding the purpose of study, thisstudy was an applied research. Given the data collection method, this correlational study wascategorized as a descriptive survey study. The statistical population of this study included allsenior managers, assistant directors, middle managers and experts in the State Organization forRegistration of Deeds and Properties (N=50). The sample size was determined as 44 individualsusing the Cochran Formula. However, given that the population size was small, all members ofthe population participated in the study. The data were collected through library and fieldmethods. Furthermore, the questionnaire was the main data collection tool used in the study. Thereliability of the questionnaire was determined as 0.804 using the Cronbach's alpha coefficientthereof. The face validity and content validity were confirmed as well. Since the sample size wassmall, PLS Software was used to perform inferential statistical tests. The results suggested thatreduction in the environmental complexity, improved access to information, and decisionmakingsupport systems,anddecision-making empowerment among managers of State.Organization for Registration of Deeds and Properties thereof
