چکیده مقاله:
The injection of seawater into oilfield reservoirs to maintain reservoir pressure and improve secondary recovery is a well-established mature operation. Moreover, the degree of risk posed by deposition of mineral scales to the injection and production wells during such operations has been much studied. Experience in the oil industry has shown that many oil wells have suffered from scale-related flow restriction due to plugging of oil-producing formation matrices or fractures and perforated intervals. In this paper, the mechanisms of scale formation from oilfield water are presented. In addition, Identification of scale and removal methods are presented. This study was conducted to investigate the permeability reduction caused by deposition of scales and methods for scale control and remove for reduce costs due to oil field scales are high because of drastic decline of oil and gas production, frequent pulling of down-hole equipment for replacement, re-perforation of the producing intervals, re-drilling of the plugged oil wells, stimulation of the plugged oil-bearing formation, and other remedial work-overs.
