چکیده مقاله Nucleating effect of graphene nanoplatelets in melt-spun polypropylene/graphene nanocomposite fibers

In this paper, monofilaments of PP (polypropylene) and PP/GnPs (graphene nanoplatelets) with different concentration of GnPs were produced via dilution of PP/GnPs master batch into the PP matrix. The effect of inclusion of GnPs on the crystalline structure of PP fibers was investigated by means of WAXD, DSC, and polarized light microscopy. The WAXD results indicated that the crystal type of nanocomposite fibers did not change and is still in the α-monoclinic crystal form. The DSC results showed that the GnPs affect both the melting and crystallization behaviors. Based on DSC, WAXD, and polarizing optical microscopy results, it can say that GnPs played as a nucleating agent and increased the crystallization temperature and simultaneously acted as a physical barrier, reducing crystallite growth of PP.
