Comparison of aggression of athlete and non-athlete students of Ilam city

Background: The research aimed to compare the aggression of Ilam's athlete and non- athlete students. Materials and Methods: The statistic community consists of all 14 - 18 year oldstudents of Ilam . Given the purpose of the survey, 150 subjects (50 non -athletes, 50 team athletes and 50 individual athletes) were selected purposefully. The instrument used in this study was the Buss and Perry Aggression Questionnaire (1992). The Validityof the questionnaire has been confirmed in several studies. Also In a pilot study on 30 students, the achieved reliability was 0.089 using Cronbach's alpha. Descriptive statisticswere used to describe the data, KS test for statistical analysis of the data, one-way ANOVA and Tukey test at SPSS in a significance level P≤ 0.05.Result and Discussions: The results showed that there were no significant differences in terms of level of aggression between three groups . This means that the aggression level of individual athletes is more than the group sample and in the team athletes morethan non- athletes. Conclusion: It seems that there can be an answer to this contradiction whether the exercise can lead to aggression mitigation or it is a factor in aggression augmentation Performing a research that age and exercise level (recreational vs. AFC) is included in it
