Background: The main objective of this study is to investigate the relationship between empowerment and organizational citizenship behavior of the employees of the Youth andSports Department, of Fars Province. Materials and Methods: Considering the nature of the study the methods of this study is descriptive – correlation. Populations studied are, including all employees of the Office of Youth and Sports in Fars province (75 people).Given the small community, Sample of thecommunity and the returned questionnaires, is considered. For collecting information, of Spritzer empowerment questionnaire (1995) and Pudsakef Organizational Citizenship Behavior Questionnaire (1990) is used witch its validity by a group of experts universityprofessors, agreed and for final calculation of the Questionnaires also Cronbach's alpha was used. Final coefficient of empowerment questionnaire (0.87) and Questionnaire on organizational citizenship behavior was estimated (0.82) and also for inferential statistics,Pearson correlation and multiple regression test was used.Results and Discussions: The findings suggest that between empowerment(r=0.533) and its components, feeling significant (r=0.617), feeling competence (r=0.542), selfdetermination sense (r=0.280), feeling of effectiveness (r=0.329) and sense of trust (r=0.246). There is a significant relationship with organizational citizenship behavior. Multiple regression analysis results also show that among the components of empowerment of stuff, competence and feeling significance components was significant in predicting organizationalcitizenship behavior and about 43 hundredths of the organizational citizenship behavior of staff can be predicted on the dimensions.Conclusion: This study recommended for organizations with challenging work assignment And strengthen the people's inner control center (attributing failures and successes to their place) with Adding to the richness of their job with Assignment of responsibilities of decision making as to increase the spirit of accountability, It will strengthen their sense of citizenship.
