PRECONCENTRATION AND SEPARATION OFTRACE AMOUNTS LEAD (П) IN WATER SAMPLESUSING POLYHYDROXYBUTYRATE-BPOLYDIMETHYLSILOXANE

A simple, sensitive and selective method for exteraction of trace amounts of Pb(II) inwater samples based on the adsorption of Polyhydroxybutyrate-b-polydimethyl siloxane. A newtechnique using a solid phase extraction (SPE) cartridge with Polyhydroxybutyrate-bpolydimethylsiloxane as sorbent was developed for the preconcentration of trace amounts ofLead and was determined by flame atomic absorption spectrometry (FAAS). Some of theimportant parameters on the preconcentration and complex formation were selected andoptimized. Under the optimized conditions the limit of detection (LOD) and limit ofquantification (LOQ)were 0.167,0.562 and theproposed methodhas a good reproducibility 0.81%(RSD %).The enrichment factor was 200 and the percentage of recovery was in the range of 95-100% .The method was successfully applied to the recovery of Pb2+in different type of watersamples. Polyhydroxybutyrate-b-polydimethyl siloxane in this study is full of potential to use asan excellent adsorbent in the extraction method like solid phase extraction(SPE) and solid phasemicro extraction(SPME).
