THE EFFECTS OF SUBCONDUCTORS SIZE AND NUMBER ON TOWER WEIGHT AND FOUNDATION VOLUME

In Power System DeveIopment PIanning One of the most important issues which has to be decided upon is the amount of invesment of transmission Iine. ObviousIy by changing the size and number of subconductors the amount of investment will aiso change, in order to investigate the variation of amount of investment with the change of these factors, in this paper it has been tried to define a practical modei. To do so, it is tried to caIcuIate the weight of tower and voiume of foundation for various sizes and number of standard subconductors CommonIy used in Iran . Then based on this calcuiation and correiating of the results so obtained, a new suitable mathematical modei was deveioped. Investigafton carried out and reported in this paper shows that, with the aid of this modei, the amount of investment required for transmission Iines with different subconductors size and number can be btained very easiiy, which can be a good bases for future pianning .
