PLANT BETTERMENT FOR 63 KV SUBSTATION OF BESAT POWER PLANT

This paper discusses the problems of old 63 KV substation of Besat Power Plant in south of Tehran and investigates the solutions for removing them. The Results of technical inspection show that, air pollution and the high level short circuit current and malooperation of protection system are the most important problems in this substation. Among all feasible solutions to these problems, the following are found to be most suitable from techno-economical point of view: - 63 KV busbar are divided in two sections to reduce the short circuit level. - The whole substation are covered by steel structure to prevent the humidity and rain fall on equipments & insulators to rectify pollution problem.
