چکیده مقاله:
Energy losses in our transmission and distribution system is around %15 corresponding to a peak power loss of not less than %22. Approximately two thirds of these great losses occur in distribution systems, therefore, making the researches and the studies to reduce these losses much valuable. The causes for this high loss are too many, namely the lack of master plans the lack of as-built drawings . the lack of load statistics, unequality of loads among different outgoing feeders or transformers, great differences of load among the three phases, low power factor, much low cross section of Cu conductors:(10,16,25,35,sqmm and at the most 50 sqmm ),long overhead lines, lack of load management, too few engineers and other badly needed experts, unauthorised and/or illegal taps, etc. In the short-term execution of such trivial projects as equalisation of loads among the different transformers, feeders, and the 3 phases of feeders combined with non-automatic-controlled capacitor banks may reduce about 2 to 3 per cent of energy losses, itself corresponding to 500 MW REDUCTION in peak power losses. However, the reduction of losses more than that, together with other measures to improve the highly-needed quality and standard of supply requires great changes both in organization and the attitudes.
