ADVANCED SIMULATION TECHNIQUES FOR THE ANALYSIS OF POWER SYSTEM DYNAMICS

A simulation package will be presented which contains the type of models necessary for an adequate description of the elements involved in the analysis of the dynamic properties of power systems. Besides modelling aspects also the relevant methodological- and numerical methods will be discussed. The paper will present also descriptions of some challenging problems to which this advanced simulation technique has, been successfully applied. It has provided reliable results and has been a very valuable aid in dimension ing the considered existing as well as future ower system components including their control systems.
