چکیده مقاله:

CdS is an important semiconductor with a band gap of 2.5 ev [1] and an exciton Bohr radious of 2.8 nm [1], which makes the quantum-confined effects more notable even for relatively larger particle size. Because of the size and shape dependencies of their physical properties [2], CdS nanocrystals with interesting morphologies have attracted great interest for researchers. Sonochemical process has been proven to be a useful technique in synthesis of novel materials with unusual properties [3]. Surfactantassisted synthesis has been proved to be effective because surfactants can act as soft template as well as structure directing agent for the assembly and subsequent mineralization of inorganic precursors at the surfactant-solution interface. The process is very facile and easily extended to prepare lots of inorganic and organic composite hollow sphere with nanometer to micrometer diameters [4], such as SiO2 [5], CdS [6], Ag, Ni and so on. In this paper, CdS Hollow nanospheres have been synthesized by a surfactant-assisted sonochemical route. The resultant products were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD) measurement in order to determine the crystalline phase of the products. The structural and morphological features of the products were investigated by transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM).
