چکیده مقاله:

This study investigates the relationship between digital adoption and labor productivity in Germany over the period ۲۰۰۵-۲۰۲۵, employing a longitudinal panel data framework across sixteen federal states and twelve major industrial sectors. Drawing on annual data sourced from the German Federal Statistical Office, the Digital Economy and Society Index, the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development, and the European Commission, the analysis applies fixed-effects panel regression, Granger causality testing, and Vector Autoregression modeling to examine both the direction and magnitude of the digital adoption-productivity nexus. The findings indicate that broadband infrastructure penetration, enterprise software adoption, and workforce digital skills collectively explain approximately ۶۱.۴% of the variance in labor productivity growth (adjusted R۲ = ۰.۶۱۴, F(۷,۳۱۲) ۴۸.۷۳, p < ۰.۰۰۱). A one-percentage-point increase in enterprise digitalization is associated with a ẞ = ۰.۳۷ standard deviation increases in value-added per worker (p < ۰.۰۰۱, ۹۵% CI [۰.۲۹, ۰.۴۵]). These results align with the general-purpose technology framework and contribute novel sectoral heterogeneity evidence to the German productivity debate. Significant moderating effects of human capital quality and firm size are also documented. Policy implications for Germany's national digitalization agenda are discussed, particularly in the context of the post-pandemic economic recovery and Industry ۴.۰ transitions.
