چکیده مقاله:
Arid coastal regions possess substantial potential for tourism and regional economic growth, yet many remain underdeveloped because of freshwater scarcity, environmental limitations, and inadequate infrastructure. This paper presents Sea Mountain City, a conceptual framework for a handcrafted coastal pyramid proposed for the northeastern Mediterranean coast of Sinai, Egypt, in the vicinity of El Arish between the city and the Gaza Strip. Inspired by the geometric identity of the ancient Egyptian pyramids, the project integrates contemporary architecture, sports, tourism, entertainment, and sustainable infrastructure within a single international destination. Its principal components include a natural mountain-like pyramid with landscaped terraces, lightweight wooden hospitality structures, a circular social arena with ۳۶۰-degree rotating seating, an integrated sports complex, an international equestrian and cultural heritage center, seawater desalination, wastewater treatment and recycling, and intelligent water-resource management. Beyond tourism, the proposal introduces a regional development model in which future net revenues, after investment recovery, could contribute to productive greenhouse-based urban development and sustainable settlement initiatives in suitable areas of the Sinai Desert. Accordingly, Sea Mountain City is envisioned not only as an iconic tourism landmark but also as a catalyst for employment generation, economic diversification, and environmentally responsible regional development. This study represents a conceptual engineering and planning proposal rather than a final construction design. Future implementation would require comprehensive geological investigations, structural engineering analyses, environmental impact assessments, economic feasibility studies, and regulatory approvals.
