چکیده مقاله:

The increasing complexity of healthcare systems has created a growing need for nursing graduates who possess strong clinical competency, critical thinking, and decision-making skills. Traditional teaching methods in nursing education, which often emphasize theoretical instruction and limited clinical exposure, are not always sufficient to prepare students for real-world clinical challenges. As a result, innovative teaching strategies have gained attention, with simulation-based learning emerging as a particularly effective approach. This article explores the integration of simulation-based learning in nursing education and its role in enhancing clinical competency among nursing students. Drawing on relevant educational theories and existing literature, the paper examines various types and models of simulation, including low-, medium-, and high-fidelity simulations, standardized patients, and virtual simulations. The findings highlight that simulation-based learning provides realistic, safe, and structured learning environments that support experiential learning, skill development, critical thinking, and clinical decision-making. Additionally, simulation enhances students’ confidence, communication skills, and readiness for professional practice. The article also discusses proposed strategies for effectively integrating simulation into nursing curricula, emphasizing faculty preparation, scenario design, and structured debriefing. Overall, simulation-based learning is identified as a valuable and innovative educational strategy that can significantly contribute to improving clinical competency and preparing nursing students for the demands of modern healthcare practice.
