چکیده مقاله:

Objective: Caring for transplant patients can place significant psychological and physical strain on caregivers due to the complexities of treatment and ongoing needs. The aim of this study was to assess burden of care among caregivers of transplant patients and examine its relationship with age. Results: The mean total burden of care score of caregivers was reported to be ۵۵.۷۱±۱۰.۷۶, and most caregivers (۸۵.۷%) experienced moderate burden of care and only ۴.۴% experienced mild burden of care. The examination of the components of burden of care showed that time-related stress and social stress had the highest frequency (۳۲.۹%) and the lowest impact (۲.۹%) on caregivers, respectively. One-way analysis of variance showed that the mean total burden of care scores were significantly different in different age groups (F(۲,۳۶۷)=۷.۸۳, P=۰.۰۰۱). Tukey's multiple comparisons showed that caregivers under ۳۵ years of age had the lowest burden of care (۵۱.۳۰±۷.۶۳) and caregivers ۵۰ years and older had the highest burden of care (۹.۴۸۵±۵۶.۶۵), while the difference between the ۳۵ to ۴۹ and older age groups was not significant (P=۰.۵۰۶). Regression analysis showed that ۳.۶% of the variance in total caregiving strain scores was explained by age (F(۱,۳۶۸)=۷.۰۶۵, P<۰.۰۰۱, R²=۰.۰۳۶). Conclusion: The results of the study show that burden of care is moderately high among caregivers of transplant patients, and age is considered an effective factor in the amount of burden of care, with older people experiencing more pressure than younger people.
