چکیده مقاله:
The residential sector plays a significant role in global energy consumption and carbon emissions. Among various housing typologies, villas often exhibit higher energy demand due to increased surface exposure and dispersed spatial organization. This study proposes an integrated conceptual framework for designing Net Zero Energy Villas (NZEVs) by synthesizing prefabrication logic with principles derived from Scandinavian architecture. The research adopts a qualitative analytical approach based on literature review, architectural interpretation, and synthesis of technical design strategies. The proposed framework is structured into five interconnected layers: architectural configuration, passive energy strategies, prefabrication logic, envelope integrity, and material durability. Rather than treating energy performance as an add on technological layer, the framework integrates architectural form, construction methodology, and environmental responsiveness from the earliest design stages. The findings indicate that the combination of compact massing, passive solar orientation, industrialized construction accuracy, airtight envelope systems, and durable climate responsive materials can significantly enhance the feasibility of achieving net zero performance in villa scale residential buildings. The study contributes a holistic design model intended to guide architects and researchers in the development of sustainable, energy efficient, and long lasting residential architecture.
