چکیده مقاله:
Pregnancy and the postpartum period are associated with profound physiological and hematological adaptations that alter the hemostatic balance and increase the risk of venous thromboembolism (VTE). The present study aimed to investigate laboratory-based hemostatic and hematological biomarkers associated with thrombotic risk during pregnancy and postpartum. A total of ۱۰۰ women were divided into five groups: first trimester, second trimester, third trimester, postpartum, and healthy controls. Biomarkers including prothrombin time (PT), β-thromboglobulin (β-TG), D-dimer, platelet count, and body mass index (BMI) were analyzed. The results demonstrated significant elevations in PT, β-TG, and D-dimer levels during pregnancy and postpartum (P ≤ ۰.۰۵), indicating increased coagulation activity and platelet activation. Platelet counts showed a progressive decline in late pregnancy and postpartum, suggesting increased platelet consumption. Additionally, BMI increased significantly in late pregnancy and postpartum, reflecting its role as an additional thrombotic risk factor. These findings confirm that pregnancy represents a hypercoagulable state, with postpartum women exhibiting persistent hemostatic alterations. Monitoring these biomarkers may improve early diagnosis and prevention of thromboembolic complications.
