This study evaluates the efficiency of ozonation for color removal from synthetic dye wastewater in a batch reactor. Within ۳۰ minutes, ۹۳.۸% decolorization and ۷۰.۳% COD reduction were achieved. Rapid color removal occurred during the first ۱۰ minutes, indicating effective chromophore destruction. The increase in TDS suggests the formation of soluble oxidation intermediates, confirming partial mineralization. The pH remained near neutral throughout the process. Kinetic analysis followed a two-stage pseudo-first-order model. The results demonstrate that ozonation is an efficient method for rapid dye removal and a promising pre-treatment option for wastewater treatment systems.
